arithMATIC Downloads

June 1, 2005.  Burtonsville, MD.  Ocean Systems is proud to announce the release of our newest Avid plugin, arithMATIC.  The following customers are entitled to a free copy of the arithMATIC plugin:

1.  Those current with support as of June 1, 2005. 

2.  Those that purchased a system as of June 1, 2004.

The new arithMATIC plugin will allow users to perform mathematical operations on two video tracks.  These functions include Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division and Scaling.  These features can be used for a variety of functions such as brightening an image and comparing two tracks of video to find out what is different between those two tracks. 

Addition - will allow the user to brighten an image. 
Subtraction - will allow the user to see what has changed between two images. 
Multiplication - will also allow the user to brighten the image.
Scaling - is a subset of the Multiplication function.  It allows the user to multiply the two tracks by a number of greater then 1 to brighten the image and less then 1 to darken an image. 
Division - will also allow the user to peform change detection in the image.

You do not need to have your Avid hooked up to an internet connection to add the new arithMATIC plugin.  Once you have downloaded the file that you need for your system, you may need a program to unzip the files. If so please go to http://www.winzip.com to install Winzip. 

To install the arithMATIC plugin follow the steps listed below:

1.  Close Avid, if open.

2.  Open Windows Explorer and copy the .avx file in this zip file to the following location:
C:\Program Files\Avid\AVX_Plugins\

3. If you do not see arithMATIC in your Effect Pallete, please refer to this support document.

4.  Email support@oceansystems.com your dongle number.  This will most likely start with an EF55 number.  If you are having trouble finding your dongle number, please refer to this link on the Ocean Systems website:

5.  We will send you the unlock key and instructions on how to unlock the plugin by email.
