Each dTective system ships with a CD/DVD burner, as well as CD/DVD creation software. Avid's flexible export options give the analyst the ability to create DV, QuickTime, AVI, Windows Media, Real Media, MPEG 1, MPEG 2, or over two dozen industry standard image file formats, as well as WAV or AIFF audio, which can then be burned to CD or DVD. Creating a DVD that is viewable on set-top DVD players is also possible using the DVD creation software which ships with each dTective system.
