dTective v5.0 Installation Instructions and
Microsoft .NET Framework download

System Requirements:
Avid Xpress Pro or Avid Media Composer for Windows XP
Microsoft .NET framework

The unlock code will be emailed to the email address you provided on the web form.
Please allow up to 2 business days since we expect the initial volume of requests to be high.

dTective v5.0 Installation Instructions:

1 - Please verify that you have downloaded the correct version of dTective 5.0

     If you have Avid Media Composer or Avid Media Composer Adrenaline
     you should have downloaded - dTectiveMC.zip

     If you have Avid Xpress Pro
     you should have downloaded - dTectiveXPro.zip

2 - Double click on the downloaded .zip file and extract the setup.exe and dTective.pdf files to your
     desktop.

     The .exe file is the dTective installation program that will install the dTective v5 program and a
     dTective v5 training/users manual.  The dTective.pdf is a copy of the dTective installation
     instructions.

3 - Now, go to your desktop and double click the setup.exe file to run the dTective installation
     program.

4 - Next, you will need to Install the Microsoft .NET Framework on your system.
     dTective version 5.0 requires the .NET framework v2.0.

     If this is not installed, the dTective modules will not show up in your Avid Effects Palette.

    The Microsoft .NET Framework program can be found at the Microsoft web site.
    Please follow this link to download the program.  This program can be downloaded to any system
    then copied to CD or thumb drive and move to you dTective system for installation.

    While you are here also download the Windows installer 3.0 incase it is needed because of your
    Windows SP version.

5 - Once the .NET framework is installed, launch Avid and look in the Avid Effects Palette under the
     dTective category to verify the new dTective modules were successfully installed. Your should
     see: CID - Universal Noise Remover, CID - Color-Safe Levels, and CID - Color-Safe Curves.

     Note: These new dtective modules will run in demo mode until they are unlocked.
     The unlock codes will be emailed to you.
