ClearID Photoshop Plug-ins - Forensic Image Clarification & Analysis Workflow

How ClearID Works

ClearID® is a series of forensic image clarification algorithms that expands the forensic image processing power of Adobe Photoshop®. The CID Workflow interface integrates both ClearID and Adobe Photoshop algorithms so if you are already using Photoshop, ClearID can expand on your current workflow.

You access ClearID from either Adobe Photoshop "Filter" menu, or the File>Scripts menu. All the CID filters and integrated PS filters are run as scripts. For each filter that is run, you get a new layer with a unique hash value and your settings are stored.

Below you will see the ClearID interface, Tab 3. The image below shows how ClearID create layer and stores your settings.

When using ClearID via the workflow interface, you get the following functionality for both ClearID and PS filters:

  • Converts image(s) from 8 bit channels to 16 bits channel. This provide greater permission.
  • Sets image view to 100%.
  • Ensures all hidden layers are visible.
  • Set opacity to 100%
  • Once you have your desired settings and applies them, ClearID will record the settings in the new layer. CID created a new layer for each process you apply to keep you work organized.
