How do I export a movie file for viewing on another computer?

It is recommended that you use QuickTime or AVI if you would like to view your movie file on another computer. Below are the settings for each:

QuickTime

1. Mark IN and OUT points on a clip or timeline that you would like to export.
2. Select Export from the File menu and hit the Options button.
3. Select QuickTime Movie from the Export As drop down menu.
4. Select Custom, then select Format Options.
5. In the Movie Settings window, click Settings.
6. Select Sorenson Video as the Compressor, drag the quality slider to “Best” and deselect the “Limit data rate to” check box.
7. Change Width and Height to 320 X 240
8. Click OK to the Compression Settings and OK to the Movie Settings and save your settings as QT 320 x 240.
9. Save the QuickTime file to a directory on the hard drive.

Exporting an AVI Movie File

1. Mark IN and OUT points on a clip or timeline that you would like to export.
2. Select Export from the File menu and hit the Options button.
3. Select AVI from the Export As drop down menu.
4. Select Codec Options.
5. In the Codec Options window, select Cinepak Codec by Radius.
6. Drag the Compression Quality slider all the way to 100 and deselect 'Key Frame Every' and 'Data Rate'.
7. Change Width and Height to 320 X 240
8. Save the AVI Settings, and save the AVI file to a directory on the hard drive.
