How do I
program my keyboard with Avid shortcuts?
To simplify
the editing process in Avid, keyboard shortcuts can be assigned.
This article discusses the neccessary procedures to program common
Avid commands to your keyboard.
To program
Avid buttons your keyboard:
1. Open the
Command Palette (Tools>Command Palette). Make sure Button
to Button Reassignment is turned on.
2. From the Project Window, open the Keyboard Settings (Settings>double
click keyboard)
3. With both the Command Palette and the Keyboard open, and with "menu
to button reassignment" selected, drag any button to any keyboard button
you wish.

button on the keyboard, making sure that "button to button
reassignment" is selected in the command palette.
To program
Avid menu commands your keyboard:
1. Open the
Command Palette (Tools>Command Palette). Make sure Menu
to Button Reassignment is turned on.
2. From the Project Window, open the Keyboard Settings (Settings>double
click keyboard)
3. With both the Command Palette and the Keyboard open, and with menu to button
reassignment selected, click the button you would like to change on the keyboard.
Next, select the menu command you would like assigned to the keyboard. The
menu command will be assigned to your desired keyboard button.
