I am in dual monitor mode and I am getting a distortion around my cursor

This can be seen when your system is in dual monitor mode. To fix this follow the steps listed out below.

Go to Start --> Control Panel and select Mouse.
Go to the Pointers tab.
If it is checked, uncheck the Enable Pointer Shadow option down towards the bottom left of the dialog.
Click Apply and then OK.
