How do I set up dual monitors for the Nvidia 980 cards.
Make sure you have both monitor cables plugged into the monitor port on the back of the computer and start the system. If you are just plugging in the second monitor, you will need to restart the machine if it is turned on.
Right click on your desktop and select Properties.
Figure 1. Opening Display Properties Setting.
Once you do that it will open up a dialog box like the one below:
Figure 2. Display Properties Window.
Click on the Settings tab to the far right.
Figure 3. Settings tab.
Check to make sure the screen resolution for the Number 1 monitor is 1024x768 and that the Color Quality is Highest (32 bit). Make sure that the Use this device as the primary monitor and Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor are both selected. (They will most likely by grayed out.)

Now click on the Number 2 monitor and check that the screen resolution is also 1024x768 and that the Color Quality is Highest (32 bit). Check the Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor option. Click Apply and then OK. Your dual monitors should be up and ready to go.
