Ocean Systems System Info

The System Info File from Ocean Systems is a quick and easy way to access various applications for support purposes.  These include:

Device Manager
Display Settings
Disk Management
Add Remove Programs
Get System Info
Get Codec Info

Device Manager - opens the device manager, giving you access to various devices such as network adapters, system devices, sound, video and game controllers, etc.

Display Settings - Opens the settings for your monitor(s) and display drivers.

Disk Management - Allows you to see all disk drives currently connected to your system

Add Remove Programs - Opens the Add/Remove Programs panel, where you can uninstall or reinstall software

Get System Info - The Get System Info button writes a text document containing detailed information about your PC's hardware. This information is used by Ocean Systems support personnel to further understand your system's configuration.

Get Codec Info - The Get Codec Info button writes a text document containing detailed information about the various codecs installed on your PC.  This information can be used by Ocean Systems support personnel to diagonse various problems pertaining to video playback and multimedia capabilities of your system.

Once installed, the System Info app can be run through various shortcuts typed into the "run" dialog (Start>Run).  These include the following:

ar - will run the Add\Remove programs command 
devm - will open Device Manager 
diskm - will open Disk Management 
dis - will open the Display settings

INSTALLATION ISSUES

SETUP.EXE file is the actual installation program for the software. Simply run the installation file and the software will install into C:\Program Files\Ocean Systems

To Uninstall, simply run the uninstallation program from Add/Remove Programs or from the shortcut provided in the Start menu.

The System Info software does not work with Windows 95, 98 or ME unless you download the WMI application from Microsoft.  WMI can be downloaded here:  http://download.microsoft.com/download/platformsdk/wmi9x/1.5/W9X/EN-US/wmi9x.exe

Windows NT is not supported, but may work if WMI is downloaded.
