Which SCSI Port do I Use to Connect my External Drives?

To connect external drives on Luggable's, RackMount's or FlyAway's, you can connect a SCSI cable to any of the available SCSI ports. Keep in mind, however, that you cannot put slower SCSI devices on the same chain with faster SCSI devices, otherwise the speed of the chain will be brought down to the speed of the slowest device. For example, you have attached two external drives and also have a CD ROM you want to connect to the same SCSI chain. A CD ROM is typically a non-LVD (slower) device, and would bring the speed of your chain down, so you would want to connect the CD ROM to a different SCSI chain.

Also try to be aware of where you are connecting your SCSI devices. On newer systems, the SCSI card has the same interface as the Meridien card and can easily be confused.
