My Xpress DV or Xpress Pro error after installing Microsoft Security Update SP1 for Windows XP

Enter KB824141 in the search field.

Installing the latest hot fixes to Windows XP. When I open my Xpress DV (XP only) or Xpress Pro it crashes. (Different error messages, too numerous to list)

This happens after installing Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB824141). The current workaround for this is to uninstall this fix from your system.
